The Artillery Peak gold
prospect is located in western Arizona located approximately 60 kilometres
east of Lake Havasu, Arizona and 90 kilometres south of Kingman, Arizona.
High Desert Gold (HDG) controls approximately 150 hectares through a lease
with an underlying owner and the staking of unpatented lode claims. The
property is situated approximately 50 miles northeast of the Copperstone
(~400,000 ounces) and 50 miles southeast of the Oatman District (2,000,000
ounces historic production).
Artillery Peak is an untested, bonanza grade vein system hosted within
Precambrian granite. Gold is found within numerous quartz veins controlled
by north-south and northwest trending structural corridors which intersect
on the property. The veins range from 2 centimeters to +1 meter in width
and commonly occur in parallel swarms. All veins consistently contain
high-grade gold values over a 750 meter strike length along both structural
corridors, with values greater than 10 g/t being common and high values of
up to 134 g/t (3.9 oz/t).
Sampling has demonstrated that gold mineralization extends out into the
granitic wall rocks away from the veins with gold values from altered,
hematite stained, granite ranging as high as 2.09 g/t over 2.5 metres. To
date 260 rock ship samples have been collected with the average gold grade
for all samples being 6.4 g/t.
HDG has
completed a soil sampling program that was designed to test for gold
continuity along strike and to help define the potential width of the
system. Gold values in soils ran as high as 0.59 g/t and have defined a well
constrained zone 750 meters along strike with widths varying from 100 to 400
meters. Field work is continuing and HDG has already defined several high
priority drill targets and drilling and trenching permits have been received
from the BLM.
